Pure Water FAQ
What is TDS and why does it matter?
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) measures how many minerals are in your source water. For spot-free windows you want TDS < 10 ppm. Pure water systems remove those minerals so water dries clear.
DI vs. RO/DI — which should I choose?
DI-only is great for low-TDS regions or occasional jobs. RO/DI costs more up-front but slashes filter replacement costs and works in any water quality.
How long does resin last?
Depends on incoming TDS and gallons produced. At 100 ppm, a 1/2 cu ft DI tank purifies roughly 550 gal before rising above 10 ppm.
Do I need a pump?
If your jobs are 3+ stories, you’ll appreciate the higher flow and pressure a pump provides. The abc NXT series and SG2 includes a built-in booster—no aftermarket kit required.
What about maintenance?
Change pre-filters every 2–3 months, change RO every 1-2 years or every 100,000 gallons, and swap resin when TDS climbs. We stock every filter and ship the same day.
